Singer and songwriter Christopher Evans Kaweesi, commonly known as Chris Evans, hailed fellow musician Rema Namakula during the HiPipo music awards at Serena Hotel last night.
While receiving their award for Best RnB song for their love song “Linda” , Chris Evans described Rema as very talented and hardworking, and appreciated her for the opportunity to work with him.
Here’s a translated version of part of the humble acceptance speech Evans made in Luganda on receiving the award. “I thank Rema Namakula for recording this song with me. I was honoured to work with an artist of her standard on this song. We started recording the audio just two weeks after she gave birth. You would look at her and worry about her health but she was strong and we finished the project successfully.”
Evans also thanked his fans for the undying support and producer Paddy Man for believing in him during the recording of the song.
‘Linda‘ was one of the most remarkable songs of 2015.
